Making me flash back to 20 years ago, mate, as I was preparing for high school graduation and applying to colleges.
Do what you love and what you want to do. Not what others think may be good for you (although do take some of those courses as electives.)
Where are you based? I’d go in-state and save some cash and then spend larger on a graduate degree from a more prestigious institution if that’s what you want to do.
I’m also a strong advocate of doing a local community college for a year or two and then transferring to a program if you haven’t made up your mind yet on what you want to study. Or alternately going into a vocation where there is a shortage of people (HVAC, plumber, etc.)
These are all the things I didn’t do when I went off to college.
I didn’t pursue aviation like I really wanted.
I went out-of-state because of a scholarship thinking I could do well in a smaller liberal arts school. I was isolated and not ready for school. I wound up leaving after a year and moving to Silicon Valley at the right time to build a resume, which has given me a decent career overall.
I’m going to stop rambling before I get too melancholy. The bottom line is to take care of yourself.

I went to Miami University (assuming you’re referring to Oxford not Florida) and absolutely loved it. If you’re into the whole stereotypical college experience, with the cute college town, beautiful campus, the greek life, and the parties it’s great. Sort of like living in a bubble, though. I remember not having much concept of what was happening in the outside world when I was there, just because it’s 45 minutes away from the nearest city. They’ve been building a ton recently as well; new dorms, new student center, new dining halls.

I have a family friend who lives out there and a sister who lives in Chicago, so I’m strangely more inclined to the midwest.

I’m based in California, where the University and state systems are excellent but clogged to the brim with students.
I’m not into the local community college as I already have a path...I’d like to go in law...I’ve taken two law classes in high school and it’s been enlightening.

I go to Northwestern, but I’m from the Bay Area and came close to going to a UC. That would get my vote, especially if it’s one of the smaller ones like UCSB or Davis.
